Ctrl Bker: Romanian Cos Should Speed Up EU Funds Attraction Process
Dijmarescu said most multinational companies attract funds from their parent companies, but the small and medium-size companies will be hit harder by the effects of the crisis.
"It is obvious that SMEs are borrowing more from the local market than other companies," Dijmarescu told a press conference organized by Euromoney in Greece.
BancPost president Mihai Bogza said the banking system might risk entering in a vicious circle of non-performance if it stops lending.
"The limitation of lending might lead to recession, which might trigger a chain reaction on the repayment capacity for loans taken by companies and individuals," Bogza said.
Both Dijmarescu and Bogza agreed that the main support Romanian authorities can offer is to invest in infrastructure.
