Tariceanu also said he is very pleased with the progresses made by the Balkan countries in their attempt to join the EU.
"I am glad that Croatia is only one step away from its accession to the European Union. I am also glad that other important countries, like Macedonia and Serbia, signed the Stability and Association Agreement, which offers them a clear European perspective. I think it is our duty to carry on this process and turn the Balkans into a region of stability and prosperity. This one of the most important development opportunities for the European Union and it is our duty to ease access for the Balkan countries to the European perspective," Tariceanu pointed out.
He also said he is glad that the meeting with the European liberals takes places in a very important moment in which most European countries are trying to find the best solutions to cope with the global financial crisis.
