Meteorologists warn that heavy rain, thunderstorms and even hail are expected starting Saturday evening until Sunday evening in 21 counties and capital Bucharest.
Precipitation levels are seen at an average 25-30 liters per square meters, but quantities could double in some areas, according to the advisory which covers more than half the country, except for the eastern and northwestern regions.
Romania has been swept by a heat wave last week with scorching temperatures of more than 35 degrees Celsius, followed by heavy rain and thunderstorms that fell trees, pulled roofs off buildings and caused floods in some areas.
