According to union leader Constantin Tudor, 150 miners gathered in front of the company headquarters and refused to work. Protesters demanded that Zegujani manager Mihart remain in his position, as rumor had it among miners that the manager would be sacked.

Mehedinti mine manager Mihai Popa said there was no talk of firing Mihart and protesters have no reasons to refuse to work.

Early April, nine miners in Zegujani protested underground for five days, demanding that union leader Constantin Tudor be transferred from their unit.
