In a press release issued Tuesday, the ministry said the protests will also hinder internal flights and railway traffic.

„Transport and trade in the region are affected by social protests taking place now in Greece. Romania’s Foreign Minister will return with new information as it is passed on by Greek authorities,” the press release said.

Greece’s two largest trade unions, ADEDY (375,000 members) and the General Confederation of Greek Workers (around 1 million members) call for a general strike on Wednesday, in protest to a Government austerity plan, adopted in exchange for EUR110 billion in aid from the European Union and International Monetary Fund.
