Swiss Authorities Enact Motion On The Rights Of Rroma Population
The town council in Switzerland’s city of Geneva approved Wednesday evening a motion regarding the human rights of the Rroma population who decide to settle in Switzerland, newspaper “La Tribune de Geneve” writes.

The motion stipulates that the Rroma population should benefit from better living conditions and that people should try and get along with this ethny.
The motion was received with critical eyes by town officials. However, they admitted that the Rroma people face many difficulties across Europe.
The Geneva councilors agreed to introduce the text of the motion together with an amendment asking the president of the Swiss confederation, Micheline Calmy-Rey, to pressure the Romanian government into taking action and improve the situation of the Rroma people.
