Vodafone Romania Reports 2.7% Higher Service Revenue, Of EUR707M, In 2016-2017 Fiscal Year

Vodafone Romania registered a total 9,441,063 clients (mobile services, voice services and Internet of Things) on March 31, 2017, 320,918 higher than in the previous year, and 8,744,061 of them are users of mobile services, according to the financial results released by Vodafone Group Plc. on Tuesday.

The average revenue per user (ARPU) for mobile services provided by Vodafone Romania reached EUR6.1 in the fiscal year ended on March 31, 2017.

On March 31, 2017, Vodafone Romania subscribers accounted for 41% of the mobile client base and Vodafone card users made up 59%. The share of pre-paid services users in the total mobile client base inched up 0.2 percentage points, compared with the previous year.

Mobile data consumption in the fiscal year ended on March 31, 2017 soared 100.4% against the previous year.

The penetration rate of smartphone terminals in the user base rose by 3.7 percentage points in the fiscal year ended on March 31, 2017, compared with the previous interval.

Vodafone Romania is the local division of mobile telecom group Vodafone Group Plc., with divisions in 26 countries, 48 partner mobile networks and fixed broadband operations in 17 countries. On March 31, 2017, Vodafone Group had 515.7 million mobile service users and 17.9 million users of fixed broadband services.

Vodafone Romania reports its financial results depending on the British fiscal year, which starts on April 1 and ends on March 31. The results reported on Tuesday correspond to the financial year started on April 1, 2016 and ended on March 31, 2017.
