Number Of Tourists In Romania Up 4.3% On Yr In Aug
Romanian tourists accounted for 82.7% of the total, while foreign tourists represented 17.3% in August, similar with the same period a year before.
The number of foreign tourists that entered Romania in August was 7.9% higher compared with August 2007, INS release reads.
Most of foreign visitors, representing 95.3%, come from European countries, while 63% come from EU member states. Hungary accounts for the highest number of tourists who entered Romania, with 31.5%, Bulgaria for 15.1%, Germany, 11%, Poland, 8.9%, and Italy, 7.7%.
The number of Romanian tourists traveling abroad in August was up 27.5%, compared with the same month a year before.
In the first eight months of the year, the number of tourists in Romania was 3.4% higher compared with the corresponding period a year earlier.
