When asked if the problems brought up by the teachers would ever be solved, the Prime Minister replied: “Eventually, we will solve all their financial problems.” He added that a possible agreement between union leaders and Government officials does not need to be approved in a Government meeting.

Prime Minister Boc is meeting with the teachers’ unions Wednesday. The talks will be attended by ministers Dan Nica (Interior), Marian Sarbu (Labor), Gheorghe Pogea (Finances) and Ecaterina Andronescu (Education). The unions will decide whether to sign the agreement with the Education Ministry, discussed earlier with minister Andronescu, or resume protests. The decision will be taken in a common meeting of the four education unions – FSLI, FEN, “Spiru Haret” and “Alma Mater”.
