Romania’s 1Q Industrial Sales Up 1.2% On Yr

Energy sales rose 25.4% on the year in January-March, while manufacturing and mining sector sales fell 2.2% and 0.9% in the same period, respectively.

In March alone, industrial sales dropped 2.1% on the year due to lower sales in two main sectors, but rose 3.2% on the month from February on higher sales in the mining and manufacturing sectors, the institute said.

On the year in March, manufacturing and mining sector sales fell 5% and 0.9%, respectively, and took industrial sales down, while sales in the energy sector rose 20.6% in the same period.

Sales in the manufacturing and mining sectors rose 10.8% and 4.8% respectively on the month in March, while energy sector sales fell 7.8% in the same period, the institute said.
