The text of the motion is to be completed Tuesday and would be sent to collect signatures to other parliament parties, especially the leftist Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the far-right Greater Romania Party (PRM).
"PDL proposes the submission of a no-confidence motion because the government did not cancel the tax, nor did it refund the money," Boc said, adding that according to the Constitution, the only sanction applicable to a government for not observing requests in simple motions is a no-confidence vote.
Boc said the government led by Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu “is no longer legitimate in running the country so long as it is opposing Parliament and Romanian justice.”
The Chamber of Deputies in plenary session last week adopted the simple motion "Cancel the car tax", also submitted by democrat liberals. Chamber speaker Bogdan Olteanu said the stipulations in the motion are not mandatory for the government.
