Light Road Accidents In Romania May Be Solved Amicably As Of July
Amicable resolutions are regulated by Law 136/1995 on insurance and re-insurance in Romania, Government Emergency Ordinance 195/2002 on traffic on public roads and Order 21/2008 of the CSA on the application of norms regarding the use of the accident amicable resolution form.
The parties involved in an accident fill in the form with the circumstances of the even, their personal and vehicle identification data, as well as information on their insurers. Filling in the form does not constitute an admission of responsibility in the event, but is only a tally of facts which will aid in solving the case.
The amicable resolution procedure will be applied in the case of road accidents occurring in Romania, in which two vehicles were involved, and which resulted only in material damage.
The form is printed and distributed by insurance companies authorized to provide vehicle insurance.
According to CSA data, underwritten vehicle insurance from RCA and CASCO policies were worth 1.53 billion (EUR1=RON4.1811) at the end of the first quarter, up by 3.3% compared to the same period last year. The weight of car insurance in the total insurance worth climbed 0.3 percentage points in the first quarter, to 75.6%.
