„Cartel Alfa” union vice-president Liviu Apostoiu told MEDIAFAX Monday unionists were summoned for talks at the Government Tuesday afternoon, and added discussions will focus on unfreezing social dialog.

The Government said later Monday the prime minister’s meeting with union representatives was scheduled for Monday at noon and a meeting with employer representatives will take place at 4 p.m..

Unions told Boc in an open letter last week they will not attend social dialog committee meetings or any other ministry committee meetings, as the Government disregards social partners and discards all their propositions.

Union leader Petru Dandea said Monday unionists will try to prevent the adoption of the Labor Code in Parliament, as they were not consulted on its new provisions.

The draft law amending the Labor Code was put up for public debate from Friday until Monday. Both union confederations and employers rejected the amendments proposed by the Labor Ministry.
