The tourist has several injuries and concussions and a dislocated shoulder.

Local mountain rescuer George Cotinghiu said the tourist was descending coming down the mountain very late Monday evening after a hike on his own to the Bucegi Mountain.

Upon exiting the forest toward Busteni, just hundreds of meters away from entering the resort, the man was attacked by a bear. People in the area jumped to his rescue and chased the bear away.

The man was taken to the Sinaia hospital with a dislocated shoulder and several concussions, but no life-threatening injuries.
