The Chamber of Deputies has adopted the draft law for special pensions elimination
Special pensions for several categories are to be eliminated, after the Chamber of Deputies adopted a draft law on Tuesday in this regard. The categories include parliamentarians, magistrates and civil servants with special status, except the military and police personnel.

The draft law was adopted with 247 votes for and 21 abstentions.
The deputies rejected, in the plenary on Tuesday, the amendments of Adrian Solomon adopted in the Working Commission, which eliminated the special allowances for performance athletes and artists. The rejection proposal came from the social-democrat himself.
The PNL project aims to eliminate the service pensions for several categories, including: deputies and senators, judges and prosecutors, the auxiliary specialized personnel of the courts and prosecutor's offices, civil servants with special status, civil servants parliamentarians, members of Romania's diplomatic and consular corps, members of the Constitutional Court and civil aviation professional navigator personnel of civil aviation in Romania.
The special allowances were not eliminated in the case of the military and police personnel.
The legislative project was adopted by the Chamber of Deputies as a decision-making forum, and will reach the President of Romania for signing.
