The committee analyzed a request by President Traian Basescu for the reexamination of the law regulating the sale of state protocol buildings. The law criticized by the president allowed the sale of buildings in direct negotiation.

The president in his request had stated the buildings should only be sold by auction, as this method would be a strong guarantee against corruption and the fair way for anyone to have access to the buildings.
