Operations to retrieve the bodies lasted about 12 hours.

The Bucharest Emergencies Inspectorate was notified Friday around 18.30 local time about a cave-in at the construction site for Baneasa Passageway that completely buried three workers.

A fourth worker was taken out of the area shortly after the accident occurred and was rushed to the hospital. The man was suffering from posttraumatic stress because one of the other workers trapped was his brother, but had no life-threatening injuries.
