Intl Fincl Turmoil, Proof That Capitalism Requires Capital – Romania’s PM

The international financial turmoil is a clear example that capital is a prerequisite for capitalism, Romania's Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu said Thursday in Rome, saying these problems should not be long lasting.

"What is happening now mirrors a capitalist economy. We can acknowledge the fact that there is no capitalism without capital, and the banks will be more cautious toward speculative actions," Tariceanu said.

Tariceanu does not think that will be a long-term crisis.

Tariceanu and his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi led Thursday, in Rome, the Romanian-Italian inter-governmental meeting. The Romanian Prime Minister commented on the current international crisis in the press conference that followed the meeting.
