"We will establish the sum after we see all the conditions. If we do not like the conditions, maybe we will not take a loan," Pogea added.

Official sources told MEDIAFAX on Monday that a Romanian delegation including central bank deputy governor Cristian Popa and Finance Ministry secretary of state Bogdan Dragoi carried at Washington discussions with the International Monetary Fund a potential agreement.

End-last week, Popa and Dragoi were also in Brussels to talk to the European Commission representatives about an eventual loan.

IMF spokesperson for Europe Angela Gaviria confirmed that a Romanian delegation is in Washington from Monday to Wednesday, to discuss with the IMF about the local economic development and its challenges.
