“To exit crisis of course you need some wisdom… But I can say it is now essential to rebuild confidence, which is the starting point of any process to exit the crisis,” Isarescu said during Romania Financial Forum seminar, organized by the central bank and MEDIAFAX.

He added that reliable programs are equally essential to restore trust.

Isarescu also said that Romania lacked credibility in the past 20 years, and it had to “import” credibility. Such an “import” was made earlier in the year, when Romania closed a EUR20 billion external financing program with the International Monetary Fund, the EU and other international institutions.
