Timisoara International Airport, in western Romania, saw an increase of 70% in passenger traffic on the year in the first three months of 2017, to 355,832 passengers.

Timisoara airport said in a statement that a total 355,832 passengers were registered, between January and March 2017, compared with 209,890 in the year-earlier period, which translates into a 70% increase in passenger numbers on the year in the first three months of 2017.

March was the 15th consecutive month of growth in the number of passengers, for Timisoara Airport. In the first three months of 2016, the airport saw 2,824 landings and take-offs, whose number rose 48% to 4,178 flights in the first quarter of 2017.
