First 30 Km Of Romanian Bucharest-Brasov Hwy Complete This Year – PM

Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc said Sunday that the first 30 km of the Moara Vlasiei - Ploiesti segment of the Bucharest – Brasov highway will be completed this year, and works on the Ploiesti ring road will be complete in November.

Present Sunday at a meeting with the leaders of Prahova county and the heads of the decentralized institutions, Boc said works on the western ring road of Ploiesti city, which entered rehabilitation, will be complete in November this year.

He added financial resources have been secured for the highway segment Moara Vlasiei – Ploiesti and, also this year, the first 30 kilometers of this segment will be complete, "at asphalt level".

"We have secured the financial resources, this year we will complete 30 km of this highway segment. Our objective is to complete this segment in 2010. (…) This is a 42.5 km segment," Boc said.

The Prime Minister added rehabilitation works will commence on July 20 for national road 72, which connects Ploiesti to Gaiesti and has a length of 64 km.
