The project is estimated at EUR1,500,000.
The three counties, namely Covasna (Romania), Heves (Hungary) and Varmland (Sweden) were the birthplaces of renowned children’s literature authors: Benedek Elek, Gárdonyi Géza and Selma Lagerlöf, respectively.
The “Fairytale Village” will be build in Covasna, and local authorities said they plan to apply for European funds via the 2007-2013 Regional Operational Program (durable development and tourism promotion).
The Budapest-based organization "Szülőföld Alap" contributed with 700,000 Hungarian forints (some EUR2,544) to the feasibility study.
