Romania Nov Economic Sentiment Drops To Lowest Level In EU

In its latest business and consumer survey, the Commission said services and retail trade confidence in Romania nudged up in November, but confidence in construction fell 2 points on the month to minus 43.

Confidence in the Romanian industry was flat on the month at minus 13, but consumer confidence dropped one point to minus 50.

Across the EU, only Hungarian consumers are more pessimistic about their country’s economy in November, at minus 51%.

In the EU, economic sentiment rose 1.9 points to 87.9 in November, the eight consecutive improvement since March 2009.

The eurozone economic sentiment indicator increased by 2.7 points to 88.8.
