Power output fell to 15.15 million tons of oil equivalent in the first eight months of the year, while the country’s power resources reached 22.21 million toe in the same period, the institute said.
Thermal power output dropped 7.9% on the year in January-August period. Hydropower output rose 19.6%, while the nuclear power output fell 3.1% in the same period, compared with a year before.
Electric power resources rose by 1.5% on the year from January to August, at 39.02 billion KWh, mainly on import increases, while electric power consumption increased by 4.3% on the year to 33.49 billion KWh in the same period.
Power exports fell by 1.1 billion KWh in January-August, namely 48.1% compared with the year-earlier period.
