Romanian Ambulatory Care Suppliers Must Be ISO-Certified As Of 2012 – Draft

Romanian suppliers of ambulatory care, including recuperation-rehabilitation and dental medicine, will be required to hold ISO quality certificates by December 31, 2011, according to the draft frame-contract on healthcare.

The National Health Insurance House has put the draft Decision to approve the frame-contract on medical assistance in the social health insurance system in 2011 up for public debate.

According to the draft, suppliers of specialized ambulatory care will be required to implement a quality management system in conformance with SR EN ISO 9001:2001 by December 31, 2011, after which time it becomes a criterion of eligibility for a contract with the Health Insurance House.

This provision is also applicable to suppliers of family planning services, acupuncture, phytotherapy and homeopathy, according to the draft.
