The Romanian authorities in Israel offered them assistance, the quoted sources said. The data of the nine persons was sent to the Israeli authorities for processing, and they will be included on the list of foreigners who want to leave the Gaza Strip.
Two Romanian families, totaling nine persons, asked Romanian authorities in Tel Aviv for assistance in leaving the Gaza Strip, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry said Friday.
According to an official statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry recommends Romanian citizens in the Gaza Strip to contact the Romanian Embassies in Tel Aviv and Cairo to start procedures to leave the territory.
The ministry said it is ready to give assistance to Romanian citizens who want to leave the Gaza Strip.
The team of the Romanian Consulate in Tel Aviv was consolidated to manage efficiently the requests coming from Romanian citizens, the statement said.
Up to now, two families (nine people) asked for assistance to leave the conflict area from the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the ministry said.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry, via its diplomatic missions in the area, will help Romanian citizens if the request support from the Romanian authorities to leave the Gaza Strip through Israel.
Assistance entails obtaining approval of the Israeli authorities, issuing travel papers and ensuring transit of Israel’s territory to Jordan.
