U.S. Reintroduce 3% Rejection Rate Threshold For Visa Waiver

Contacted by MEDIAFAX, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the measure to go back to the 3% threshold is not new and is a consequence of the fact that U.S. authorities haven’t implemented a monitoring system of exits.
The U.S. Embassy to Bucharest told MEDIAFAX in January that the visa refusal rate threshold would be reset at 3% instead of 10% as of July 1.
Although the threshold for Romania was at 10% so far, the U.S. embassy said in January that the visa refusal rate for the fiscal year 2008 was of 25%.
