U.S. VP Biden Meets With Romanian Officials Thursday

The U.S. official has also scheduled a speech at the Central University Library in Bucharest.

Biden is on an Eastern European tour a month after the Obama administration scrapped a Bush-era plan that would have placed anti-missile defense bases in Poland and the Czech Republic. Biden was in Warsaw Tuesday and will leave for Prague Friday, after his Bucharest visit.

Obama said in September the scrapped Bush-era plan will be scaled down and replaced with a sea-based system to target short and medium range missiles aimed at Europe.
