Romanian Revolution Files Declassified On March 10 – Defense Min

Romanian Defense Minister Gabriel Oprea welcomed Monday a delegation led by Teodor Maries, president of the 21 December 1989 Association, telling them the Ministry of Defense is doing everything possible to learn the truth about the 1989 Revolution.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Defense, Oprea said the Ministry grants importance to the events of the 1989 Revolution, adding that Wednesday, March 10, the last documents requested by the prosecutors, in connection with the Revolution case, will be declassified.

The Romanian Government decided on February 10 to declassify, at the request of the Ministry of Defense, the documents regarding the Romanian Revolution, which occurred in December 1989.
