„It is just an idea I had, seeing that many people who love the game choose Hungary and Bulgaria,” Udrea said after the meeting of the parliament commission for administration which approved Tourism and Regional Development Ministry’s budget for 2010.
Udrea said the construction of a golf course in the vicinity of Bucharest was not included in the draft state budget.
The minister said that if a part of the money needed to start the project is ensured from the ministry’s budget, private investors could provide the rest of the funds.
Udrea added the construction of a golf course might cost a few million euros.
„It is only an initiative and we will see whether we will be able to make it real. We certainly want it to become real and have the support of the local authorities, of the Snagov City Hall which offered to provide the land needed for the golf course,” Udrea said.
