Ukraine Interested In Acquiring Romania’s 27% Stake In Krivoy Rog Mining Plant
Romanian and Ukrainian officials met in Bucharest early this week to discuss the development stage of Krivoy Rog project. The Romanian authorities requested a clear stand from the Ukrainian party concerning the project, whose construction was left unfinished.
In addition, Romania renewed its request that the Ukrainian authorities recognized the country’s participation and the expenses it made with the project.
If Romania wishes to withdraw from the project, Ukraine will purchase the country’s stake and will proceed to seek proper ways to compensate the expenses made by the Romanian party, Ukrainian officials said.
The two parties agreed to additional consultations concerning the Krivoy Rog project.
