Compared with June 2009, construction output in the eastern European country dropped 5.3% in June, after a 16.4% decrease a month earlier, EU’s statistics office Eurostat said.
Seasonally adjusted data showed construction output in the EU rose 3.5% in June compared with a month earlier and was up 5.4% on the year.
The highest monthly increases in construction output were observed in Romania, Spain (+7.2%) and Poland (+4.5%), and the largest decreases in Hungary (-2.3%), the Netherlands (-1.8%) and Slovenia (-1.6%).
In annual terms, the biggest increases were recorded in Spain (+18.6%), the United Kingdom (+13.6%) and Poland (+10.2%), and the largest decreases in Hungary (-19.6%), Bulgaria (-17.5%) and Slovenia (-16.9%).
