Romanian Scriptwriter Ioan Antoci Wins ScripTeast Award At Cannes Film Festival
ScripTeast is a training program organized by the Independent Film Foundation and supported by the MEDIA Program, the Polish Film Institute, the Polish National Culture Center, Apple Film Production and Magyar Filmunio, in association with the European Film Academy, ACE – Atelier du Cinema Europeen, Producers Network, e-Talenta, Fadeln (Central European Pitch Forum) and the festivals in Berlin, Cannes and Karlovy Vary.
Throughout several months, scriptwriters in Central and Eastern Europe have developed their projects under the guidance of international advisers. The final stage organized within the Cannes Film Festival targeted to promote these projects among famous cineastes, as well as international film producers and distributors.
Antoci’s project dubbed "Cainele japonez" (The Japanese Dog), was presented at this year’s ScripTeast edition alongside other ten scripts, among which, "Transfer" of Artchil Khetagouri and Ileana Stanculescu.
The commission of advisers designated Antoci’s project as winner. The project was previously designated winner at the Script Contest organized last year by HBO and it will be produced by Libra Film.
