Organizers of the Romanian show, Emagic, said Friday that fans who bought tickets may get their money back or exchange them for tickets to B’estfest festival, taking place in Bucharest between July 1 and July 6.
Depeche Mode announced Friday that the eight shows part of their "Tour of the Universe" that got cancelled will not be rescheduled. The band expressed regret that their schedule does not allow them to reach the cities where shows were cancelled, but hope to reach the respective places in the near future.
"Up until the last minute, we hoped the band would reschedule cancelled shows. Unfortunately, the band’s buys schedule didn’t allow for shows to be fit into tour breaks, but we know that Dave, Martin and Andy really wanted to meet with Romanian fans again,” said Laura Coroianu, executive manager of Emagic.
Depeche Mode lead singer Dave Gahan fell ill in his dressing room on May 12, before the band was due on stage in Athens, Greece. The band was forced to put off eight tour dates, including the Bucharest gig. The band resumed its tour Monday, June 8, in Leipzig, Germany.
