The new operating room has the Artis Zeego angiography system that will enable the hospital to treat over 80% of patients with cardiovascular problems.
Artis Zeego is the first multi-axis system based on robotic technology that can be positioned exactly the way the doctor wants and doesn’t take up much space. It can be used in interventional cardiology, hybrid procedures, general vascular procedures, electrophysiology and structural heart procedures.
The system is developed by Siemens Healthcare, one of the world’s largest suppliers to the healthcare industry. Siemens’s Healthcare division manager in Romania Marian Ghinescu, said the equipment inaugurated in Iasi is state-of-the-art and only two other such systems exist in Eastern Europe, one in the Czech Republic and one in Turkey.
The hybrid operating room at the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases in Iasi is worth over EUR1.5 million and is part of the investment program of the Ministry of Education and Research.
