Romanian President Signs Decree To Dismiss Labor Minister

Romanian President Traian Basescu on Wednesday signed the decree dismissing Paul Pacuraru from position of Labor Minister, the presidency said in a statement.

Basescu suspended Pacuraru on Monday over corruption charges.
 
The decision came after anticorruption prosecutors launched a probe into allegations that Pacuraru took bribe while in office.
 
Following the suspension, Pacuraru forwarded his resignation.
 
Mariana Campeanu, president of the country’s pension house CNPAS, will be most likely nominated to replace Pacuraru as labor minister, liberal sources said Tuesday.
