Romanian Lending To Recover In 2010, Pressure Still Remains – IMF

The local banking system has proved resilient during the financial crisis, despite growing non-performing loans which led to higher provisions and even capital increases for some of the banks, said Jeffrey Franks, chief of the IMF mission to Bucharest.

Franks commended the „vigilance” of the central bank’s supervisory arm, but said the lender must maintain a prudent stance.
