“These employees will be taken over by the three companies to which Posta Romana outsourced cleaning and asset transport services through auctions. The company currently employs nearly 35,600 people,” Buciu said.
After the company upgrades its car park, 500 employees will be dismissed.
“The car park will be upgraded in the first part of next year. This will lead to a drop in the number of employees working in the respective sector. Those who remain will benefit from a wage bonus,” Buciu said.
Two days ago, the company announced Porsche Mobility won the auction to supply 727 vehicles through leasing, for a contract worth 108.8 million lei (EUR1=RON3.8421).
According to the auction announcement, the company plans to buy 613 delivery-vans and 114 cars.
The company is Romania’s largest operator in this sector, has over 35,000 employees and 7,100 postal offices, in ten regional directories.
Lat year, the company reported a turnover of RON1.04 billion and a net profit of RON25.48 million.
In the first eight months of the year, the company registered total assets worth RON945.8 million, up 39.6% from the same period a year before, while the gross profit climbed 63.2% to RON67.6 million.
The company’s shareholders are the Communications Ministry with 75% and the investment fund Fondul Proprietatea with 25% of the shares.
