At Least 120 Romanians Arrested In Spain On Credit Card Fraud Charges

According to the website of Spanish publication L’Opinion de Murcia, the arrests were performed in Murcia, Valencia, Tarragona, Malaga, Huelva, the Canary Islands and Madrid, as well as in Ireland and Romania.
 
Police officers in Alicante arrested Tuesday at least 15 Romanians in Benidorm, Caple, Alfaz del Pi, Rorrevieja and San Xavier (Murcia), and confiscated equipment used to forge credit cards.
 
The suspects arrested in Murcia include people who allegedly forged credit cards and people who allegedly used the cards.
 
The damages caused by the fraudulent network have not yet been estimated.
 
The press office of the Romanian police force said no arrests were made in Romania connected to the operation in Spain.
 
"This is an action of the Spanish police. No arrests connected to it have been made in Romania so far," the Romanian police told MEDIAFAX.
