Romania To Seek Legal Ways To Back Local Builders At Public Works Auctions – Min
Udrea stressed the country’s Foreign Ministry will be asked to step in and the National Authority Regulating and Monitoring Public Procurement to make an analysis in order to find legal ways to uphold or at least not disfavor Romanian constructors at public works auctions.
Udrea’s statement came in response to the statement made by Cristian Erbasu, head of employers’ association representing construction companies, who said Romanian builders usually work in partnership with foreign companies.
Erbasu spoke about Spain and Germany, which, he said, have implemented measures meant to back local builders both locally and abroad.
He stressed that Romanian companies must get local authorities’ support to rejoice equal opportunities as foreign companies.
Udrea, in turn, said Romanian companies might stand higher chances at public works auctions if they partner up with foreign companies.
