Underworld Head Stabbed To Death In E Romania

A man, known as one of the heads of the underworld in Romania’s eastern town of Galati, died Sunday night after he was stabbed in the neck outside a local bar.

According to sources in the local police department, the victim, Marian Ivan, was allegedly surrounded by several unknown people while leaving a bar. On of the aggressors allegedly pulled a knife, stabbed the man in the neck and fled the scene. Although emergency doctors arrived on the scene immediately, the man died.

Forensics and prosecutors started investigations but declined to give any details before the completion of the coroner report.

"Marian Ivan died at midnight Sunday, but I cannot say more until the coroner report is completed," said Monday morning Emilia Negraia, spokesperson for the local prosecutors’ office.

Police has come up with a group of suspects and believe the attacker is a member of a rival gang.
