Romania Is Ready For Public Debate On Its Afghanistan Troops

The former head of state said during a debate on Romania’s role as a host of the upcoming NATO summit that the country is mature enough to debate the issue of Romanian troops in Afghanistan.

 

Constantinescusaid people are now ready to be informed on the matter.

 

He added that 2003 was the “dawn of passionate populism” and Romanians were pro-American, pro-NATO and pro-EU, which may account for the country’s decision to send troops to Afghanistan.
