Vedinas said she will resign from the Greater Romania party, or PRM, early next week. Her seat in Senate will be filled by senator Mihai Drecin until general elections on November 30.

Romanian lawmakers elected Tuesday the new members of the Court of Accounts, to be presided by social democrat senator Nicolae Vacaroiu.
