The protesters asked the Metrorex manager to come to them and promise them negotiations and a solution to the problems.
The leader of the Subway Free Unions (USLM), Ion Radoi, informed the protesters that negotiations will commence Monday, and he hopes they will lead to a positive result so that a general strike might be avoided.
The protest rally is attended by employees who finished their shifts, thus, transport activity is not hindered.
The USLM filed Thursday with the Department of Labor within the Ministry of Labor a notice on the conflict of interests, which could lead to a general strike, because the government has not yet approved the budget for subway company Metrorex. A general strike would put Bucharest in gridlock because the subway carries more than a quarter of the city’s population daily.
