Vadim Tudor said he decided to stay at the insistent requests from across the country and abroad, and the request of his daughters. He said he received numerous letters from local party branches in which he was asked not to resign from parliament. Vadim Tudor dismissed allegations that such letters were sent following political pressures.

The far right leader reiterated allegations of fraud involved in the European Parliament elections. Vadim Tudor had announced Sunday evening, after exit polls indicated his party had ended below the 5% threshold, that his party had been cheated and he would step down from parliament.
