UPDATE: 27.29 % Of Romanians Vote In EP Elections By GMT 17:00

In urban areas, 23.01%of people exercised their right to vote while in rural areas the percentage rose to 33.20%.

In 24 counties turnout at voting sections rose above the national average.

In Bucharest, 19.12% of citizens voted for EP elections, and the highest turnout was registered in the first district while the lowest in the fifth district.

The highest percentage countrywide at 19.00 local hour, was registered in Harghita 42.62%, Sălaj – 36.89 %, Covasna – 36.48%, Teleorman – 35.67 %, Vrancea – 32.15%.

The lowest turnout was registered in Prahova – 22.52%, Timiş – 23.03%, Argeş – 24.07%, Brăila – 24.39%.
