UPDATE: Early Polls Show 3,79% Romanians Vote In EP Elections

The Central Electoral Bureau informs that 3.79% of Romanian citizens went to elect their officials for the European Parliament until 10,00 in the morning.

In urban areas, 3.13% of people exercised their right to vote while in rural areas the percentage rose to 4.72%.

In 24 counties, the percentage of people who exercised their right to vote rose above the national average.

Only 2.69% of Bucharest’s citizens presented at the voting sections until 10.00 o’clock, the lowest percentage in the country.

In Teleorman, 5.48% people voted for EP elections, the highest percentage in the country, followed by  Tulcea-5.37 %, Harghita-5.25 %,  Vrancea – 5.08% and Vaslui – 4.95%.

Last places regarding vote attendance was registered in the counties of Ilfov – 2.79 %, Prahova -3.00% and Maramures – 3.12%.

In other counties throughout Romania at 10.00 a.m. attendance at the voting sections was as follows: Alba – 3.65%, Arad – 3.70%, Argeş – 3.38%, Bacau – 4.24%, Bihor – 4.09%, Bistriţa Năsăud – 3.56%, Botoşani – 4.60%, Braşov – 3.18%, Brăila – 3.69%, Buzău – 4.27%, Caraş-Severin – 4.09%, Călăraşi – 4.06%, Cluj – 3.18%, Constanţa – 4.37%, Dâmboviţa – 4.22%, Dolj – 3.82%, Galaţi – 4.12%, Giurgiu – 3.88%, Gorj – 3.57%, Hunedoara – 3.57%, Ialomiţa – 3.72%, Iaşi – 3.88%, Meghedinţi – 4.01%, Mureş – 4.05%, Neamţ – 4.35%, Olt – 4.79%, Satu Mare – 3.17%, Sălaj – 4.69%, Sibiu – 3.17%, Suceava – 3.43%, Timiş – 3.31%, Vâlcea – 3.86.%

The margin of error is of +/- 3% for 2,586 voting sections throughout Romania.
