Upon leaving DNA, Nastase said it was more than obvious that prosecutors would call him for hearings after he gained a new mandate of deputy following the parliamentary polls on Sunday.
Nastase is accused of funding his 2004 election campaign with the money paid by certain companies as participation fees in the "Quality Trophy" contest organized by the State Construction Inspectorate.
Early July 2008, Nastase showed up at the anticorruption department and took note of the charges brought against him in the "Quality Trophy" file, stressing at the time that his file is nothing but a political scheme.
Nastase also said he could not figure out why he was subpoenaed in the "Quality Trophy" file, since there is no incriminating evidence in this respect.
Nastase highlighted that prosecutors "displaced" his file to lay the blame on him without any prior approval from the Parliament.
