Romanian Govt Could Apply Age Limit To 3rd Degree Invalidity Pensions
„The proposal is to grant third degree invalidity pensions only to people that are 45 years of age or older, when the invalidity is caused by a regular illness or the accident was not a work accident. The dependency rate will improve and the social insurance budget spending will drop,” the sources said.
The sources said the proposition is already included in a government document to be referred to analysis when the new pension law is drawn up.
According to the World Bank, the deficit in the Romanian pensions system will exceed 5% of gross domestic product (GDP) until 2020, will have an ascending path in the following three decades and then it will reduce to 6.2% of GDP by 2050.
